The Life of a Mainiac

Summer is officially here ! As of today, we will experience our longest day of summer and I LOVE it ! The birds are chirping until dusk or later, my roses smell heavenly towards evening and taking barefoot walks is the ultimate in enjoyment for me. :-)
Maine folk have a tendency to perhaps appreciate the summer time more than others with a longer stretch of warm weather than we get to have, yet most of us will say that we sure make the best of it ! Part of today I spent mulching my gardens (weeds grow faster than flowers or vegetables) and watering containers of flowers. Tonight I grilled out of doors which is a pure pleasure that only lasts a short time for us.
Sweet sweet summer time !

And this....... this is my catch and release. Fishing is a passion !

Maine is commonly known for this:

Certainly, some could argue the pros and cons of living in a state that presents it's cold face for about 6 months out of the year. Yet others absolutely ADORE the thought of having 4 seasons. Actually we have more than 4 if you count black fly season and mud season !

Among the distinct joys of Maine are the spring lilacs in bloom in late May and early June. Because we've had such a warm spring, they have already come into full bloom and many are passing by.

These are right outside my door.
